As of September 26, 2025, Oregon will update Paid Leave Oregon (PLO) and its sick leave law. Highlights are below.

PLO
Before an employee returns from PLO medical leave, employers will be allowed to require a certification from the employee’s healthcare provider that they’re fit to resume work. However, employers that require certification need to have a uniform practice of requiring it from all returning employees. Sick Leave
Employees will be able to use sick leave for any reason that’s covered by PLO.
