On June 13, 2023, Nevada enacted the Nevada Employee Savings Trust program, establishing a state-run payroll deduction individual retirement account (IRA) program for eligible private sector employees who do not have access to a qualified employer-sponsored retirement plan.
The program is scheduled to be operational on July 1, 2025, and is mandatory for private sector employers with six or more employees. Employers that provide a qualified retirement plan may submit an exemption to the state.
