HR Compliance Update-North Dakota Expands Pregnancy Accommodation Law: Compliance Reminder

As of August 1, 2023, North Dakota requires that employers of all sizes provide accommodations to employees for childbirth and related medical conditions. This is in addition to providing accommodations for pregnancy, as was already required by state law. Employers should update their pregnancy accommodation policy if it’s not clear that it covers childbirth and related conditions and ensure that managers understand the employer’s duty to accommodate.
