HEALTHCARE MINIMUM WAGE DELAYED FOR A SECOND TIME
The new statewide minimum wages and salary threshold for healthcare workers, originally intended to take effect June 1, 2024, then pushed back to July 1, are once again delayed. The new effective date for the increases is not yet determined but is expected to be between October 15, 2024, and January 1, 2025. We’ll let you know when the effective date of the rates is announced.

LONG BEACH HOTEL WORKER RATE
The minimum wage for hotel employees in the city of Long Beach, if they work in hotels with 100 or more guest rooms, will be $23 per hour beginning July 1, 2024.

Previously we indicated it would be $18.16 per hour, which was the number reported, listed on the notice poster, and confirmed by the Office of the City Clerk as recently as Wednesday. They finally updated their information after we contacted the City Attorney’s office.
